Author Visit: Jorma Liikala - Love is a Word of Culture

Jorma Liikala visits the salon of Lippulaiva Library on Thursday, September 24 at 6 p.m. to present her work Love is a Word of Culture.

The book consists of poems, paintings, and stories. The narratives are set in Lapland around Sodankylä and in Ostrobothnia in Vimpeli. The texts and poems were created over four years during writing courses in Lojo and Espoo.

The back cover describes the work's inspiration: "When I became a widow, I decided not to grow bitter. Instead of filling the empty house, I filled my calendar: I began to dance, study languages, and write." Some texts are accompanied by a brief account of how they came to be.
