Heli Heikkinen - Life in Colours

Artist Heli Heikkinen's exhibition Life in Colours is on display at the Tauko Gallery in Myllypuro Service Centre from 26 August to 22 October 2026. The works depict Helsinki, people, and contemporary everyday life - light and colour as a response to the world's dark news. The exhibition pieces are carefully selected to bring joy and guide viewers toward their own experiences and memories.

Heikkinen describes her practice this way: "My career as a painter began naturally as an abstract expressionist. Over time, sensory perception and the surrounding multidimensional reality have become increasingly important: I interpret the world through my own hand, using colour and line."

Heikkinen graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 1985, having previously studied physics and mathematics. Her works are held in several private and public collections, including the National Gallery and the Helsinki City Art Museum. Beyond painting, she has worked as an art teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts and Critical University, and with children and young people with disabilities.
