Graffiti City Exhibition Opening Day, Free Entry!

The opening day of the Graffiti City exhibition takes place on Saturday, 19.9.2026 at the Jyväskylä Art Museum. The museum is open from 11 to 18 and admission is free all day.

Programme for the day:

At 12:00 opening remarks by city councillor and chair of the culture and sports committee Elma Hyöky, coordinator Hanna Brotkin (Art Testers cultural education programme, Finnish Children's Culture League) and visual artist Jukka Silokunnas. At 13:00 and 15:00 graffiti publications are presented. From 13:00 to 15:00 Urban Diamond choir performance in the museum shop. At 14:00 Meet & Greet: @grafumummo Eeva Ala-Vannesluoma. DJ R2ISDJ2 provides the day's music, and there is also an interactive performance.

Graffiti City brings together graffiti artists from Jyväskylä from different generations from the 1990s to the present day. The exhibition explores local graffiti history and showcases how graffiti is expressed as sculptures, art prints and installations. The exhibition runs from 19.9.2026 to 17.1.2027.
