Puutio depicts natural landscapes in her works. The artist explains: "Rather than precisely rendering my nature observations, I aim to capture the impression of light and the subtlety of colour nuances. My paintings are rooted in my own observations of nature and the experiences that the natural environment awakens in me."

Puutio has held several solo exhibitions over fifteen years, and her works have been selected for international watercolour exhibitions in Estonia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Currently, her works are also on display at the Emil Cedercreutz Museum in Harjavalta.
