Muhos Senior Week 2026 takes place 3.-10.10. with the national theme "Encounters in Everyday Life". The week's programme includes physical activities, cultural events, group singing, digital guidance, local history, wellness video features and community activities. Events are held at the library, Koivu and Tähti cultural centre, the parish hall and the town square. The week's films will be announced later.

Saturday 3.10. - Library, Local History Room
Muhos and Leppiniemi - from past to future: workshop and miniature exhibition about Muhos and Leppiniemi.

Sunday 4.10. - Parish hall 10-12
Family service and St. Michael's Day service - a service bringing generations together.

Monday 5.10. - Koivu and Tähti cultural centre
10-11 chair gymnastics / chair dance, instructor Tuuli Heinonen.
13-14 video feature: Meet everyday life through movement - vitality for the brain (produced by the Central Union for Elderly Care and the Heart of Western Finland). Remote viewing at the local history room.

Tuesday 6.10. - Parish hall
From 10:00 group singing with school songs, accompaniment by Ossi Kajava, host Helena Moilanen.
12:00 parish hall café opens - café activities continue weekly on Tuesdays.

Koivu and Tähti cultural centre & Library: 13-14 video feature SeniorSurf day: Fact or fiction? (media literacy and critical thinking, remote viewing at the local history room). 14-15.30 AI poetry: explore poems created with artificial intelligence, and participants have the opportunity to test AI in practice.

Wednesday 7.10. - Parish hall 10-14
Senior fairs - featuring organisations and associations related to elderly people's everyday life. Detailed programme will be updated later.
13-14 video feature: Power from food - varied nutrition in ageing (produced by Gery ry, remote viewing at the local history room).

Library 17.30: author visit by Aino Leppänen presenting her work "Until Parkinson's Parted Us". Discussion on the impact of the disease on marriage and everyday life.
