The Strange Cafe

The Strange Cafe is a comedic circus theatre performance that combines theatre, science tricks, magic, acrobatics and humor. The show is fully scored and completely silent, and is aimed at both children and older audiences.

In the story, a cheerful cafe owner's day takes a strange turn when all the drinks served to an arriving lady behave oddly. Color-changing beverages, mysteriously disappearing coffee, a space filled with soap bubbles and swift pair acrobatics drive the narrative forward. Because the performance is silent, the story is conveyed through facial expressions, gestures and music - it is understandable regardless of language.

The performance demonstrates how something new and interesting can emerge from unexpected and even clumsy situations, and emphasizes the power of imagination and bold experimentation.

There are two performances: at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Duration is approximately 30 minutes. Recommended age limit is 3 years. Performers: Nina Rinkinen / Milka Rasimus / Mimmu Korvenpää and Sanna Warsell / Ia Laiti. Once the performance begins, the doors are closed and no new audience members are admitted to the hall.
