Talk on Easy-to-Read Books

Easy-to-read text adapter and Finnish language teacher Hanna Männikkölahti interviews Esa Juntunen and Eve Hietamies about easy-to-read books on the Saarikoski carpet on 3.11.2026 from 18:00 to 19:00.

Esa Juntunen's "Vaurastu viisaasti" (Tammi 2024) is a non-fiction book about financial literacy, and Eve Hietamies' "Hupparizombi" (Otava 2025) concludes a five-part novel series that began with "Yösyötö" - it follows single father Antti Pasanen and his son Paavo. Hanna Männikkölahti has adapted both books into easy-to-read language, and they were published by Avain in 2026.

During the interviews, Hanna explains how easy-to-read adaptations are created and how they differ from standard Finnish books. After the interviews, there will be time for audience questions, and after the event, visitors can stay to discuss easy-to-read books and receive reading recommendations.
