Liikkeellä marraskuussa - Betty Tchomanga: Decolonial (Hi)stories #Parallel Portraits

Choreographer Betty Tchomanga constructs her work Decolonial (Hi)stories #Parallel Portraits from four portraits in which performers take turns sharing their own stories on stage. The history of colonialism is at the heart of the piece: it travels from France to Benin, Algeria and Ethiopia through dance, speech, bodies and sound. Tchomanga approaches theatre as a political space where knowledge is conveyed through feeling.

The performance is part of the Liikkeellä marraskuussa festival, 5-15.11.2026. During the festival, Tchomanga will discuss the work with a local artist at an open Soup Talks event on 11.11 at 12:00 at Caisa.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes. Languages: English and French, English subtitles. Note: the performance contains flashing lights.
