Liikkeellä marraskuussa - Sara Grotenfelt: Last Hurrah

Last Hurrah is a festive performance that explores different emotional dimensions of celebration. Accompanied by familiar festive chords and an organ concert, Sara Grotenfelt - the work's performer and choreographer - moves through the festive crowd. Bodily states and the associations they evoke bring a sense of emptiness to the stage, and the performer attempts in every way to please her guests.

Sara Grotenfelt is a performance artist and choreographer whose artistic practice revolves around the movements of emotions and affects, and the disruption of social and aesthetic conventions in performance situations. In her works, she plays with associations and takes the absurd seriously. Her works have been shown at venues including Zodiak Stage, the Nutidsföreställningen stage at Helsinki City Theatre, the Hangö teaterträff festival, and the Helsinki Art Museum. She has collaborated with the performance collective WAUHAUS, choreographer Sari Palmgren, visual artist Anna-Sofia Nylund, and the theatre group Blaue Fraun, and has appeared in Selma Vilhunen's film Vacker rietas lycklig.
