Eija Pääkkönen's digital painting and mixed media work explores the moment when the role of bystander in one's own life no longer suffices. When the circles inside the head grow too tight, the Shadow Boxer decides to disappear - abandoning the past hurts, but is it a way to become visible?

Jesi Blomgren's installation and sound work "Letters from the Shadow Boxer's Mother" examines the painful core of motherhood: the difficult balance between care and letting go. The mother's fierce cleaning frenzy speaks to what remains when a child has grown up and chooses their own path.
