The Last Letter from the Front

The Last Letter from the Front is a one-act play written by Sixten "Sicke" Lundberg, exploring war history - particularly what it was like to live through a time no one would wish to experience again.

It is the 1980s. A daughter helps her father sort through old belongings and discovers a box full of letters she has never seen before. The letters are from wartime, and reading them opens a door to a part of her father's life he has spoken very little about for decades. The audience follows a young man's life at the front and people's everyday lives at home - alongside fear and uncertainty walk love, longing, and humour that helped people survive the most difficult moments.

The play is not a history lesson but a story about a person in the midst of war and how experiences can stay with us long after the war has ended. Sixten Lundberg is responsible for the script and direction, and also plays the father on stage. Alice Olin plays the daughter.

Swenska Teatern, Nicken, 7-10 October 2026. Performances on 7, 8 and 9 October at 18:00, and on 10 October at 16:00. Tickets 25 €, duration approximately 50 minutes. The performance is in Swedish, age recommendation 14+.
