The Say What You Say exhibition is built around three materials: textile, ceramic, and painting. All three converge on a single subject - Popper the bird, a character the artist first created on canvas in the early 1990s. This hybrid of parrot and duck with human features appeared in works for over a decade before being drawn to completion, making way for other characters.

About seven years ago, Popper returned - first as a ceramic sculpture, then in acrylic paintings. Comic-book style technique keeps the character moving from one task to the next.

Opening reception Friday 9 October, 5-7 pm. Harput choir performs at 6 pm.
