Afrojazz Quintet

About

Afrojazz Quintet is a Helsinki-based band founded in 2015 by artist-musician Alvar Gullichsen. Their music draws on jazz, afrofunk, afrobeat and psychedelic rock. The band has released the album Bongo Jazz (2019) and the EP Welcome Our Future (2023), and is currently working on a new full-length record. Their set mixes original compositions with West African covers.
