Chris Abrahams (born 9 April 1961 in Oamaru, New Zealand) is a Sydney-based pianist, organist and composer best known as a founding member of the Australian avant-garde trio The Necks, which he has been part of since 1987 alongside bassist Lloyd Swanton and drummer Tony Buck. Beyond the trio, he has released ten solo albums - ranging from prepared piano to electroacoustic collage - and has composed film scores, including a 2008 AFI Award nomination for The Tender Hook.
The Necks toured Australia's east coast in January-February 2026 in support of their new album Disquiet.
The Necks released Disquiet on 10 October 2025, their twentieth studio recording and first-ever triple CD, spanning over three hours of improvisation.
The Necks undertook an extensive European tour in 2025, performing in cities including Ghent, Turin, Barcelona, Bucharest, Berlin, Dublin, Bristol and Istanbul.
The Necks performed at The Jam House in Birmingham on 28 October 2025, described as the venue's first time hosting the band.
The Necks released Bleed in 2024, the album immediately preceding Disquiet in their discography.
