Dr. Feelgood are an English pub rock band formed in 1971 on Canvey Island, Essex. The original lineup - singer Lee Brilleaux, guitarist Wilko Johnson, bassist John B. Sparks and drummer John Martin - built a reputation for raw, high-energy R&B that helped pave the way for British punk. Their 1976 live album Stupidity topped the UK Albums Chart, and the band has kept touring ever since, surviving the deaths of Brilleaux (1994) and Johnson (2022) with a current lineup led by vocalist Robert Kane.
The band released an official live video for 'Damn Right I Do', filmed at Objekt 5 in Halle, Germany in May 2024.
The band's van was stolen from outside bassist Phil Mitchell's home in Hockley, Essex, leaving them without instruments and equipment just a week before a planned tour of Germany.
A live album, Live in Caen, recorded at Le BBC in Caen, France in October 2022, was released on 26 January 2024 via Grand Records.
The band released Damn Right!, their first album consisting entirely of original compositions, recorded in Southend with producer Dave Bronze.
Original guitarist Wilko Johnson died on 21 November 2022.
