Joska Josafat performs his new music with his seven-member band at Tavastia-klubi. With the latest album Ilon yrtit, the artist's palette expands from folk music to synth-pop.
Joska Josafat is a Finnish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known both as a lead vocalist in the hip-hop collective Jätkäjätkät and as a prolific solo artist. His solo work spans jazz, soul, folk and iskelmä, and he has released four solo albums since 2023 - three of them setting V. A. Koskenniemi's poetry to music. He has also contributed to records by Laineen Kasperi, Julma-Henri and others in the Finnish alternative scene.
The album 'Ilon yrtit', the third and final part of Josafat's V. A. Koskenniemi trilogy, was released on CD and vinyl on 8 May 2026, following its digital release on 22 March 2026.
Josafat performed a concert with his big band at Nukketeatteri Sampo in Helsinki on 9 May 2026.
A fourth solo album based on the poetry of Uuno Kailas is announced for release in summer 2026.
Josafat released his third solo album 'Pystyn mihin vaan' on 25 April 2025, featuring his own original lyrics for the first time.
Jätkäjätkät, of which Josafat is a member, announced a farewell tour in autumn 2025 after releasing their fourth album 'Norsun selässä' in February 2025.
