About

Kometa is a Helsinki-based rock trio that has kept the same Laakkonen-Kinnunen-Vänttinen line-up since 1999. Their sound blends guitar-driven rock with touches of jazz and psychedelia, and critics have drawn comparisons to acts ranging from Nirvana and Melvins to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. The band has released three full-length albums and one EP, and has performed in Finland, Estonia, Russia, Germany and Switzerland.
