Punk ja Yäk 2026
Punk ja Yäk is a two-day festival documenting the Finnish punk scene. The festival features many Finnish punk and rock bands in the courtyard of the House of Art in Turku on August 21-22.
Radiopuhelimet is an alternative rock band from Oulu, Finland, founded in March 1986. Driven by J.A. Mäki's distinctive spoken-word vocals and a raw mix of distorted rock and punk, the band has released 16 studio albums and built a loyal following over four decades - all while deliberately ignoring genre trends. Their label, If Society, has been their home for the later part of their career.
The band's 40th-anniversary book 'Radiopuhelimet palasina', edited by Juha Hurme, was published on 8 April 2026 by Like Kustannus.
A double best-of compilation 'Kuolemaa karkuun' covering 2007-2023 was released on 10 April 2026 to mark the band's 40th anniversary.
Radiopuhelimet played a 40th-anniversary concert at G Livelab Tampere on 11 April 2026.
Soundi magazine reported in February 2026 that the band is celebrating its 40th year with a compilation, a book and a run of live shows.
The band released their 16th studio album, self-titled 'Radiopuhelimet', in 2023.
