Loretta Problem is a Celtic-flavoured punk-rock band from Turku, Finland, founded in 1991 by guitarist and songwriter Hantta Viinamäki. The band blends Irish folk with punk energy drawn from the '77 era, drawing comparisons to The Pogues, Flogging Molly and The Levellers. After an active run in the mid-1990s - including a runner-up finish at the 1994 Rockin SM national competition and the debut album 'Celebrate Now' - the band dissolved in 1997 and was fully relaunched in 2016 with a new Turku-based lineup. Their 2019 single 'The Waltz of My Drunken Dream' was ranked third best Celtic punk single of the year worldwide by London Celtic Punks.
Loretta Problem headlined the Salo Irish Festival 2024 main concert, held at restaurant Musi.
The band released the single and music video 'This Is My Way' at Christmas 2021.
Loretta Problem released two new tracks - 'It's Your Bloody Fault' and a new version of 'Another Kind Of Love Song' - both accompanied by music videos.
The single 'The Waltz of My Drunken Dream' was ranked third best Celtic punk single of 2019 worldwide by London Celtic Punks.
Founding member Hantta Viinamäki reassembled Loretta Problem with a new Turku-based lineup after the band had been dormant since 1997.
