Max Zenger (b. 1988) is a Finnish saxophonist, composer and woodwind specialist who has established himself among the leading jazz musicians of his generation in Finland. He graduated from the Sibelius Academy in 2018 and leads the bands Maxxxtet and Max Zenger Globus; since August 2023 he holds the 2nd alto saxophone chair in the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra. He is a founding member of Flame Jazz Records and serves as artistic director of Porvoo Jazz Festival.
Zenger performed with his trio 'Max Zenger 3 plays Jimmy Giuffre 3' at the Porvoo Jazz Festival Jazzbrunch on 27 September 2025.
Zenger curated the Porvoo Jazz Festival 2024 programme in his role as the festival's artistic director.
Zenger was appointed permanent 2nd alto saxophonist of the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra from August 2023.
Maxxxtet released its third studio album 'Chapter 3' in March 2022.
Max Zenger Globus went on a national tour with a new album, the first full tour after the pandemic disrupted their debut album release tour.
