About

The JJ Explosion is a Finnish blues trio from Tampere, built around guitarist Otto Hallamaa, drummer Markus Ojala and bassist Juha Leppäharju - musicians with roots stretching back to the Finnish rock scene of the late 1980s. The band puts improvisation at the heart of its sound and gained wider attention in autumn 2024 through a collaboration with Battle Beast vocalist Noora Louhimo on the digital EP 'When The Magic Happens At JJ's'.

    The JJ Explosion released the digital EP 'When The Magic Happens At JJ's' with vocalist Noora Louhimo on 22 November 2024, containing three tracks: 'Coffee Break', 'Workin' Day' and 'Ballad Of Two Souls'.

    Collaboration partner Noora Louhimo parted ways with Battle Beast in December 2025 after 13 years, freeing her to focus fully on solo and side projects.
