Octoploid

Octoploid performs their only show of the year at On The Rocks on Friday, 10 July. Vocalist for this performance is Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow the Sun, My Dying Bride, Barren Earth).

Octoploid is the solo project of Olli-Pekka Laine (Amorphis, Barren Earth, Mannhai). The debut album "Beyond The Aeons" was released in July 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music, and the band's music combines elements of 90s death/black metal, 70s prog, and 90s psychedelic rock - in short, "Classic Death Prog". The core lineup features Mikko Pietinen (drums), Peter Salonen (lead and rhythm guitar), and Antti Myllynen (keyboards).

On The Rocks is accessible for people with mobility aids. The venue is not fully accessible - there are stairs and thresholds in the spaces, but staff will assist with access to the downstairs club via lift.
