Reading Dog Luna

Are you learning to read or does it feel difficult? At Munkkiniemi Library you can come and read to Luna, a reading dog who is a patient listener - you don't need to worry about your reading.

Each reading session lasts about 15 minutes. Present are the reader, the dog, and the dog's handler, who observes the situation from the side without interfering in its progress. Research shows that a dog's presence reduces stress related to reading and helps especially children and adults with dyslexia - the dog doesn't judge, doesn't dwell on mistakes, and doesn't interrupt.

Luna welcomes readers on Wednesdays from 18.00 to 19.05 on the following dates: 19.8., 9.9., 30.9., 21.10., 11.11., 2.12., and 30.12. Book your reading time through the library's customer service or by calling 09-31085033.
