Toponymy Walk - Malminkartano

The toponymy walk in Malminkartano runs from Puustellinpolu to Vuorenjuuri, covering approximately 2.5 kilometres. This guided interactive walk introduces you to the area's prehistory through its place names, the history of Puustellin manor and the university's experimental farm, and the present day - including natural history topics. The route is easy to walk; you will need hiking boots and weather-appropriate clothing.

The starting point is Malminkartano Square. The walk ends at the foot of Malminkartano Hill, from where those interested can continue to the summit.

Note: In August, trains do not stop at Malminkartano station due to station renovation. You can reach the area by buses 30, 37, 41A or 59.

The excursion is free and requires no advance registration. It is part of the capital region's nature excursion calendar for 2026.
