Finland's Visual Arts Day - free entry to Jyväskylä Art Museum on 10.7.

Finland's Visual Arts Day is celebrated annually on 10 July to honour Helena Schjerfbeck's birthday, and the day has been celebrated since 2004. Jyväskylä Art Museum offers free admission all day Friday 10 July from 11:00 to 18:00.

The museum features two exhibitions. Jyväskylä-based artist and printmaker Kirsi Neuvonen's solo exhibition "Emotional World / Emotion ● World" spans her career, themes and techniques - Neuvonen is particularly known as a pioneer of Finnish colour printmaking and draws inspiration from antiquity, art history and girlhood. The gallery also presents the Tourujoki exhibition, where visitors can experiment, touch, move and wonder - the exhibition explores Jyväskylä's Tourujoki river, whose waters flow through the city, birds and forest.
