Pälämäen Kotiseutumuseo is open in July 1-30.7 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00. Admission is free.

The museum tells the story of Jämsä's settlement in the 17th and 18th centuries, when the population was predominantly tenant farmers. The area has yielded numerous artifacts and burial finds that have been significant for research into Jämsä's settlement history. The museum buildings showcase life on a relatively prosperous tenant farm in late 19th-century Jämsä - some buildings date back to the 18th century, but the collection also includes material from later periods. All buildings were relocated to Pälämä by the early 1960s from various parts of Jämsä.

The museum is located within the grounds of a folk college, near Jämsä's town centre and the Himo district. Organizer: City of Jämsä.
