The duo Veera Railio and Johanna Viksten perform an interactive Tarinaturinat show combining music and theatre, suitable for all ages. Helsinki's community centres present the event in July at the Merirasti Cultural Space, with the summer finale on Wednesday 29.7 from 15:00 to 17:00. Coffee and light refreshments are served.
Veera Railio (vocals, violin, ukulele, percussion) holds a master's degree in music education from the Sibelius Academy and is a singing teacher. She collaborates musically with Laura Voutilainen, Valtteri Torikka, Mariska and Pauli Hanhiniemi, among others. On the musical theatre stage, she has performed in, for example, Svenskan's Mamma Mia production (220 performances), Peacock's Risto Räppääjä play and Kapsäk's Journey Around the World play. She is also a musician in Pikku Kakko's Master Molton concerts and a long-time member of Musikteater Kapsäk.
Johanna Viksten (vocals, ukulele, percussion) is a freelancer, music coach, professional teacher and voice actress. She is the singer and songwriter for Pikku Kakko's music videos The Wedding and the band Impronautit, and has songwriting credits for Katri Ylander, Club For Five, Antti Railio, Pate Mustajärvi and Suvi Teräsniska, as well as the Ipanapa albums. Viksten has acted in, among others, the Viiru and Pesonen films as "Viiru" and in the Moomin World films as Moominmamma, and has appeared in the series Syke and Another Coming as well as in Jukka Lindström's Side Story series.
The City of Helsinki awarded Veera and Johanna the Cultural Achievement 2025 prize for their Root Songs initiative.
