Tanssin Aika 2026: The Quiet Dance & The Unison Piece

Choreographer Jonathan Burrows and composer Matteo Fargion have collaborated for over 35 years and performed together in 35 countries. Their work is simultaneously precise and humorous - a love of musical structures meets joyful anarchy.

In Jyväskylä, they present their most celebrated work The Quiet Dance (2005), which plays with the relationship between seeing and hearing through surprising and layered coincidences. The programme also features the newest work The Unison Piece (2025), which explores doing things together in shared time - performed at tables with two electric guitars.
