Art history guided tours: Central Campus

This tour introduces you to the history and architecture of the University of Helsinki's central campus. The campus is now home to the faculties of humanities, education, law, theology, and political science, as well as the Swedish School of Social Work and Municipal Management.

The route covers several blocks in the heart of the city. The university's buildings rank among Helsinki's oldest, and their architecture spans from 19th-century classicism to contemporary 21st-century design. The guides are art history students from the University of Helsinki. The tour is organized by the faculty of humanities, and the summer programme includes a total of 13 different routes.

Meeting point: the old wing of the university's main building (staircase), Unioninkatu 34. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start. Tours run regardless of weather.
