Youth Budget Workshop for Viikki Youth 23.-24.9.

The Youth Budget Workshop is intended for 13-17-year-olds from the Viikki area (Viikki, Latokartano, Viikinmäki, Pihlajamäki, Pihlajisto, Käpylä and Koskela). The workshop takes place on 23.-24.9. during school hours from 12:00 to 17:00 at Viikki Youth Centre (Agronominkatu 3, 00790 Helsinki). Participants will receive a certificate for active participation, and light refreshments will be served during the workshop.

In the Youth Budget, young people get to influence the City of Helsinki's youth services budget. During the workshops, feasible activities for 2027 are planned based on data collection responses - the young people's ideas. In the autumn, proposals will be voted on in schools, and a negotiation board made up of young people will decide which ideas receive funding from the youth services' 150,000 euros - anyone can participate in the negotiation board.

The upper secondary schools in the Viikki area (KPK, PYNK, HYK, NORS, Latokartano) are aware of the workshop, and one adult from each school will participate. It's a good idea to discuss registration with your own teacher and guardian. If you don't attend an upper secondary school in the Viikki area but spend a lot of time in the area, contact the organizers and we'll arrange the details.
