Choreographer Favela Vera Ortiz's work FIGURE SOLAIRE premiered on Parrukajen in Helsinki in May 2026. The piece uses the city as landscape and stage - each performance location transforms it in its own way. At Parrukajen in the Fish Harbour, the concrete pier and seascape created an urban frame, while the green park setting of Hertonäs Manor gave it an entirely different character.

FIGURE SOLAIRE refers to a figure that carries both an inner core and something greater than itself - an archetype, a memory and an energy that repeats and transforms. The work does not depict the sun, but the traces that such a force leaves in the body, space and movement.

In August 2026, the piece will be presented as part of Helsinki's Night of the Arts programme on the lawn in front of the Winter Garden.
