Mari Hillo & Susanna Harjunpää: Tidied Chaos

People build their environment and organize daily life according to schedules and structures - yet chaos still finds a way to surprise: weeds push through asphalt, hair refuses to stay braided. In this exhibition, Mari Hillo and Susanna Harjunpää scratch at the surface of everyday order and search for life's untamed side.

Mari Hillo examines in her work the human relationship with the environment - particularly intentional and unintentional traces left behind. She works primarily with graphic art and sculpture. In her paintings, she uses aluminium and recycled offset metal as a base, from whose glossy surface brushstrokes sometimes fade from view.

Susanna Harjunpää works across disciplines with sculpture, painting, and various textile techniques. She is drawn to contradictions and disruptive elements - things that take on new meanings when in the wrong place. Her themes emerge from everyday life and personal memories, and her practice is material-driven. Both artists graduated in spring 2026 from SAMK's art school in Kankaanpää.

Instead of an opening reception, the artists will be present on Saturday 29.8.2026 from 12 to 16.
