Annantalo Art Saturday: Moon Journey

At Annantalo Art Saturday, the whole family can spend time together with art in open workshops for everyone - you can drop by briefly or stay longer.

In the Moon Journey workshop, participants sketch their ideas about what patterns can be seen on the moon's surface. Inspiration comes from a journey to the moon's dark side and from the rabbit preparing medicine, as well as from how each person interprets the moon's surface patterns. Collages are made from cardboard and yellow-toned silk paper, and the finished works are displayed in Annantalo's facade windows.

Moon Journey is part of the collaborative artwork Spektri. In autumn 2026, Annantalo's workshops and art groups create a shared light art piece called Spektri, with different sections developed in multiple workshops. In this workshop, the section for the spectrum-coloured light works placed on the Annankatu side is created. The opening of the Spektri light artwork is on 9.12. at 18:00, when Annantalo's windows light up in colour.

No previous experience is needed to participate, and everyone is welcome. Children have access to hearing protection and other sensory aids if needed, and there is also a quiet room available. Art Saturday is free and suitable for all languages. The workshop is led by Annantalo's art educators.
