Herttoniemi Village Festival Returns to the Sports Park

Herttoniemi Village Festival returns to Herttoniemi Sports Park (Siilitie 12), affectionately known as "Urtsi", after a year's break. The event is free and takes place on Sunday, 6 September 2026, from 10:00 to 14:00.

This year also marks the official opening of the renovated sports park. Opening speeches will be given by Helsinki Deputy Mayor Paavo "Sports Mayor" Arhinmäki and Matti Hirvonen representing Herttoniemi Kamrater. The festival will also present the "Herttoniemi Deed of the Year" award.

The programme is for all ages. Children aged 4-12 can participate in the traditional 60-metre race, with registration on-site from 10:00 to 11:00. The race features age-group categories for girls and boys, plus an open category. Herttoniemi Kamrater's junior teams will play demonstration matches on the artificial pitch, and at HerTo's football corner visitors can measure their shot speed with a radar gun. The new running tracks, artificial pitches, and outdoor fitness equipment are available for free testing.

Other activities include the Milou & Kaas clown duo show, HerTo fan merchandise sales, a raffle, crafts, face painting, bouncy castle, spinning wheel, guidance on using outdoor fitness equipment, and an information point from Helsinki's sports services. Library and fire service vehicles will also be present. DJ RNo provides the music. The site features a grill and Café Potku, serving coffee, soft drinks, and food.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport - Siilitie metro station is nearby. Parking spaces in the area are very limited.

The event is organised jointly by Herttoniemi Kamrater and Helsinki's sports services.
