Newcomer Information Session

Moving to the Helsinki region from abroad or considering a move for work or family reasons? International House Helsinki's (IHH) Newcomer Information Session webinar is designed for international newcomers planning a move or who have recently arrived in the Helsinki region.

The session covers key topics before and after moving to Finland: preparing for the move, work-related immigration and settling in the area, dealing with authorities and registration, housing and finding accommodation, public transport, the healthcare system, early childhood education and school options for children, and support available for spouses and partners.

Speakers from the following organizations will participate: International House Helsinki, Helsinki-info, City of Helsinki's Education and Training Division, and the Spouse Program. After the presentations, there will be an open question-and-answer session on general topics - individual personal cases will not be addressed during the webinar.

The session is held in English via Microsoft Teams. Registered participants will receive the participation link and presentation materials by email before the webinar. Please note that topics related to job searching and business establishment are not covered in this webinar - IHH organizes separate information sessions for these subjects.
