Amateur Radio Course

The amateur radio course prepares participants for the basic-level competency exam over two days of in-person instruction on 10-11 October 2026 at Itä-Hämeen Opisto, Kaikulantie 90, Hartola. No prior knowledge is required.

Programme:
Saturday 10:00-15:00: introduction to the hobby (1 h), K-module covering Communications Authority regulations, radio traffic and radio safety (3 h), and the start of the T1-module on electrical and radio engineering fundamentals (1 h).
Sunday 10:00-15:00: review of the K-module (30 min), completion of the T1-module (3 h), and the official competency exam (K- and T1-modules), administered by an external examiner (approx. 1 h+).

Course fee:
- 65 € (instruction + lunch on course days)
- 127 € (instruction + lunch + accommodation at Linna lodging, includes bed linens, towels, private bathroom and toilet, plus small kitchen area)
