Mirjami's Poems

The 94-year-old Mirjami Lehto spent her career as a teacher in Tervola and has written a vast collection of poems. Her themes include northern nature, everyday life and its moments of joy, love, and aging - which she describes with cheerful irony.

The poems are performed by Juhani Laitala, Markku Huhtamo, and alternately Marja Pesonen or Eila Halonen. Markus Fagerudd has set some of the poems to music. The performance lasts approximately 45 minutes.
