Helsingin Kaupunginteatteri - Helsinki City Theatre - is one of the largest municipal theatres in the Nordic countries, opened in 1965 on the shore of Eläintarhanlahti bay. Its several stages host musicals, drama and children's productions throughout the year, drawing some of the highest audience numbers of any city theatre in Scandinavia.
