A. W. Yrjänä (born Aki Ville Yrjänä, 30 July 1967 in Kemi) is a Finnish singer, bassist, songwriter and poet, best known as the frontman and primary lyricist of the rock band CMX, which he founded in Tornio in 1985. His lyrics draw heavily on mythology, theology and esoteric traditions - he studied theology and comparative religion before committing fully to music. Alongside a recording career spanning over 40 years and 16 CMX albums, he has published five poetry collections and released his debut solo album Heliografi in 2024.
Yrjänä's second solo album Eidolon is scheduled for release in August 2026, described as consisting of two long progressive tracks addressing current events.
