Ensemble Nylandia performs the EUBO and Alfredo Bernardini programme "Currents of Affects" - a baroque journey across Europe - at Temppeliaukion Church in Helsinki.
The European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO) is a travelling youth ensemble founded in 1985 as part of European Music Year, bringing together 20-25 post-graduate baroque musicians from across the EU each season to perform on period instruments. The orchestra holds the permanent status of Cultural Ambassador for the European Union and has given over 900 concerts in 54 countries. After a hiatus caused by Brexit and the pandemic, EUBO was relaunched in 2022 under the support of Italian foundation ICONS, with its home now in Lodi, Italy.
EUBO performs in Estonia and Finland in July 2026 under the direction of Alfredo Bernardini, with concerts in Tartu, Sastamala, Kuopio and Helsinki.
EUBO opened its 2026 season in May with a programme of Rameau works led by Christophe Rousset at the Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele in Germany.
ICONS confirmed EUBO's full 2026 season, including projects in Germany, Lithuania, Sweden, Estonia, Finland and Italy.
EUBO celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025 with an extended concert season across Germany, Poland, France and Italy, involving 21 musicians from 10 nationalities.
EUBO launched a digital timeline platform tracing the orchestra's history from its founding in 1985 to mark the 40th anniversary.
