Larry Grenadier (born February 6, 1966, San Francisco) is an American jazz double bassist whose four-decade career has made him one of the most sought-after collaborators in the genre. He is best known as a long-standing member of the Brad Mehldau Trio and has recorded and toured with Pat Metheny, Paul Motian, Charles Lloyd, and many others. In 2019 he released his debut solo album, The Gleaners, on ECM Records, and he co-leads the trio Fly with saxophonist Mark Turner and drummer Jeff Ballard.
Grenadier appeared on First Meeting: Live at Dizzy's Club, a live album with pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, saxophonist Chris Potter, and drummer Eric Harland, released July 11, 2025 on 5Passion Records.
Grenadier appeared on guitarist Jakob Bro's Live at the Village Vanguard (Loveland, 2025), a double album capturing a 2023 residency featuring Joe Lovano and others.
