Marko Haavisto & Poutahaukat is a Finnish band founded in 1997, blending country, blues and rock with the storytelling tradition of Finnish iskelmä. Singer-songwriter Marko Haavisto is known for his vivid, often melancholic lyrics rooted in everyday life. The band reached a wide audience in 2002 when they appeared as the Salvation Army band in Aki Kaurismäki's Cannes-winning film 'Mies vailla menneisyyttä', and they returned to Kaurismäki's world in 'Toivon tuolla puolen' (2017). With twelve studio albums to their name, they remain one of Finland's most consistently active roots acts.
The band announced a new album and launched the 'Elämään tarkoitusta' tour starting 26 March 2026 in Kempele, continuing across Finland through the summer.
