British rock band Placebo celebrates 30 years with an anniversary tour stop in Helsinki.
Placebo is a British alternative rock duo formed in London in 1994 by vocalist-guitarist Brian Molko and bassist-guitarist Stefan Olsdal. The band built a devoted following across Europe with a dark, androgynous sound that blended glam, goth and electronic rock - and lyrics that tackled sexuality, mental health and addiction at a time when mainstream rock rarely went near those subjects. Eight studio albums span nearly three decades, from the 1996 self-titled debut to Never Let Me Go (2022), with multiple UK top-ten records along the way.
Placebo released RE:CREATED, a reworked version of their 1996 debut album, via Elevator Lady Ltd through AWAL, marking the record's 30th anniversary.
Placebo announced a 36-date 30th Anniversary UK and European arena tour running from September to December 2026, including a date in Helsinki on 18 October.
Placebo performed at London's Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust concert series, alongside Garbage, at the invitation of Robert Smith of The Cure.
Placebo played an acoustic set at the Zermatt Unplugged festival in Switzerland, drawing from across their catalogue.
Placebo released their eighth studio album Never Let Me Go, their first record in nearly a decade.
