Sorrowhearts is a six-piece power-folk band from Tampere, Finland, active since 2008-2009. The group blends Irish and Scottish folk traditions with straight-ahead rock and a punk attitude, singing entirely in English. Virtually all material is written by frontman Sami Ala-Lahti, who handles lead vocals and a range of stringed instruments alongside violin, accordion and electric guitar in the lineup. By 2019 the band had released five studio albums and built a loyal following on the Finnish festival circuit.
Sorrowhearts performed at Peltolan tila in Kangasala in August 2026.
The band played Irish Hooley festival in Kalajoki and Harjurokki in Jyväskylä as part of their 2025 summer tour.
Sorrowhearts released a new album in May 2024, their most recent studio record.
