About

Technotronic is a Belgian electronic music project founded in 1987 by producer Jo Bogaert (a.k.a. Thomas De Quincey) in Aalst. The group broke through globally in 1989 with "Pump Up the Jam" - featuring rapper Ya Kid K - which hit number one in Finland and several other countries and is widely credited as the first Eurodance track to chart in the US. Blending hip-hop, house and new beat, Technotronic went on to sell around 14 million singles and albums worldwide, with further hits including "Get Up! (Before the Night Is Over)", "Rockin' Over the Beat" and "Move This".
