Dance and Nature Workshops - for 5-8-year-olds and their close adults — Vuotalo, Helsinki
Free entry

Dance and nature workshops are designed for children aged 5-8 together with their close adults - mothers, fathers, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, friends and siblings. No previous dance experience is needed. The workshops are led in Finnish, and if needed also in Swedish and English.

In the workshops, participants move through dance tasks: themes range from imaginative play to stories, games and exploration of the nearby forest. The instructors are dance artist and dance pedagogue Jenni Koistinen and dance artist and choreographer Virva Talonen.

The workshops are part of the University of Helsinki's "Art of Knowing" project, funded by the Kone Foundation. Participants can, if they wish, take part in research related to the project - more information: anna.rainio@helsinki.fi.

Meetings on Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:45 in Vuotalo's small hall and in the nearby forests of the Vuosaari area. Dates: 22.8., 29.8., 5.9., 12.9., 19.9., 26.9., 3.10., 10.10., 24.10. and 7.11.2026 (not 17.10.). We expect participants to commit to all sessions throughout the autumn season. Exact meeting places will be communicated to registered participants before the course begins.
