Swan Lake

The evil sorcerer Rothbart has enchanted Princess Odette from a distant land into a swan. Prince Siegfried encounters a flock of swans at the lake and falls in love with Odette - but can the prince break the spell, or will Rothbart succeed in condemning Odette to an eternal curse?

Swan Lake is the world's most celebrated ballet, where Tchaikovsky's music and an iconic visual world intertwine. The work has a long history in Finland's national ballet, which premiered it as their first production in 1922. David McAllister's version had its premiere during the national ballet's centenary year in 2022 and honours the work's enduring traditions.
