Alice in Wonderland - a fairy tale play

Alice meets a talking rabbit and tumbles down a rabbit hole - finding herself in a magical world where she grows, shrinks and multiplies, encounters talking flowers, the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter, and must ultimately save Wonderland from the tyranny of the evil Queen of Hearts.

Sakari Hokkanen has dramatized and directed this fantasy adventure based on Lewis Carroll's classic works. The production is aimed at audiences over 5 years old.

Jyväskylä City Theatre's version brings three-dimensional digital characters familiar from video games to the stage for the first time in Finland. The characters, created using motion capture suits and video game engines, were developed in collaboration with the game design programme at Xamk, the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. Costume designer Maarit Kalmakurki served as director of the digital characters.
