Vokal Vivo: Haugtussa
Temppeliaukion kirkko, Helsinki
ilmainen
Vokal Vivo presents a musical interpretation of Arne Garborg's epic poem Haugtussa (1895). The Norwegian epic tells the story of Veslemøyn, or Haugtussa - the "Mountain Maiden" - a young woman haunted by ghosts and village gossip. She struggles with her inner challenges, the forces of nature, and supernatural beings. The narrative draws from Norwegian folk tradition and explores themes of betrayal, hardship, love, and courage.
Vokal Vivo is an Oslo-based women's choir led by Marianne Husby Berg. The concert also features singer-songwriter Åshild Bergill Hagen, who performs jazz-inspired folk-pop music, and jazz saxophonist and composer Tina Lægreid Olsen (baritone saxophone). Anine Schanke Strømdahl serves as narrator.
Temppeliaukion kirkko, Helsinki. 26.9.2026 18.00-19.00. Free admission.
