Eero Savela Quartet & Kadi Vija

Eero Savela and Kadi Vija with their ensembles perform at Kanneltalo as part of the centennial celebration Jazz in Finland 100 Years.

Eero Savela Quartet presents music by trumpeter and composer Eero Savela, where compositions serve as a starting point for collective improvisation. The melodies are clear and engaging, but the band aims to take the music in freer directions. Line-up: Eero Savela (trumpet), Seppo Kantonen (electric organ), Eero Tikkanen (double bass), Joonas Leppänen (drums).

Sound artist Kadi Vija and keyboardist Nikita Rafaelov present the work Tiny Hands Gathering Wonder, The World Becomes Magic, which tells the story of Tepo, who grew up in a rainbow family - everyday poetry where the world takes shape from a slightly different angle.

Both artists released albums last year on Mustik Motel Music. Vija's album was awarded the Jazz-Emmy and Indie Awards; Savela's album was nominated for Indie Awards and Funky Awards.
